A Crier in the Wilderness....

John, second to David, is one of my favorite persons in the Bible. John's heart was so deeply rooted in a love for God (Jesus) and for humanity that he just becomes infectious to me. When John steps on the scene, his message is clear, heartfelt, unwavering and sure: PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD!!!

Prepare: to make ready for use or consideration; make able to do or deal with something.

John makes it very clear that he understands his position as the forerunner for the One who is to come! His message isn't about him at all, even when pressed by the crowd on who he might be - John in his humble wisdom, directs their minds to the One they should be preparing for!

Powerful, in His love for Christ; yet, very sure that One mightier than he is who is promised to bring salvation to the world. Our hearts should burn and yearn for that One too because only He was slain for the redemption of mankind. Resurrection power lies in our belief, acceptance and confession of Him alone - there is NO OTHER NAME by which men can be saved!

Today, to echo the words of John - REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND - causes much turmoil, confusion, rejection, and slurs of hate; and yet, this is the only Way men prove that their hearts have been pricked, regenerated and made right before God. We need more Johns in our midst! We need more criers in the wilderness. We need more prophetic voices in this hour. SELAH....
