Generational Behavior

Updated: Mar 15, 2021

"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us - for it is written, 'Cursed' is everyone who hangs on a tree". Galatians 3:13

I read that and I considered 'generational curses' and the behaviors that fall in line with such. After I read this scripture though, I thought to myself, "they're not all really cursed because Christ took on these curses for them; however, they're not delivered from bad behavior traits. That's what's really on display within the Body - bad generational behaviors:

*Lying

*stealing

*cheating

*fornicating

*manipulating

*murdering

*back-biting

*wraths of anger

*disrespect

*deceit

It's these devilish behaviors that are out of control in the lives of people who are deemed as cursed because they exhibit them. Some have even made them a comfortable, habitual lifestyle. A lot of these people are a part of the Body of Christ! I don't believe them to be cursed because we're told that Christ took on the curse so they wouldn't have to. They are stuck though. Very stuck, very broken, very unhealed and nowhere near whole - especially the murdering part. *Murder doesn't always show up with guns and knives. Words can be very very murderous, too* James 3:6

These are the things we must dissect and search our own hearts about. Curses (behaviors), whether pronounced or behavioral, are very very costly. We don't want to end up on the wrong side of the tree (Cross) in this! We cannot afford to do that!
