Take Time to Rest!

Up at 5am, breakfast by 6:30a, off to work by 7am, work all day - at least 8-10hrs, come home, work your 'real job' (because our families are our REAL JOBS) for the next 5hrs or so, shower, crawl in bed, relax. Some of this is how our lives flow day in and day out. I totally neglected to insert the endless HOURS we spend on social media, posting, chatting, scrolling, ect. Every now and then you just need a break without asking anyone's permission for it or explaining that you took one after the fact. You do this for YOU!

We need time away. Times of refreshing. Times that God promises to provide as we steal away with him and allow Him to lay us down in green pastures beside still waters. It's also not something we should ever take for granted - times of rest. I don't think we realize just how many people there are on the face of the planet who have never found 'true rest' even in a night's sleep. Think about that!

Jesus didn't find it robbery to steal away and commune with the Father. He actually found it absolutely necessary to do so. Yes, He had an amazing team of disciples that He could converse with and bounce things off of, but He knew they could never truly speak to the 'heart of the matter nor matters of the heart' like His Father could. The same is true of us. We NEED these times of stealing away and resting in God. We don't have to be on every scene, in every chat conversation, trying to solve every problem, ect. People need to learn how to go to God first anyway before they even make it to you. *Note to self* :)

So settle down, take it easy, take the load off, put your feet up...or crawl into bed and truly 'rest'. If this rest lasts for a few days, a week, a month even - it's ok. It's fine. We'll see you when you return! xo
