"There's No Place Like Home..."

Standing at the sink finishing up the dishes, a friend of the boys comes over. They stand around the island in the kitchen cracking jokes and laughing. I pretend not to be listening to them, but I'm all ears....smiling from the inside out. This scenario reminds me of 'home'......

Growing up, our home was the gathering place more often times than not. My brothers and I had a pretty nice size group of friends, but our family was (is) GINORMOUS. When they showed up, there was bound to be music, dancing (for hours making up routines), laughter, and whatever else we could get into. I try to set that same atmosphere for our household. The type of atmosphere where friends come over and they feel right at home. I'm the cool Mom and my husband is the cool Dad - whether he really wants to participate in this or not. LOL

Their friends frequent our home often - almost daily...or they're chatting on the phone or tablet and they're bound to get a peek at a dance move (is your mom doing the whatever tik-tok dance is out), or hear me shouting in the background, 'Thank you Jesus!' (why is your Mom shouting that?), or listening to my melodious vocals bellowing my favorite gospel artists (you all know who they are - Jason Nelson or Anita Wilson. wow, can your mom teach me how to sing?) Ahahahah I love these children...every single one of them! Our home is always open to them...just as long as I'm not tried and trying to nap! Boys can be so rambunctious! :)

Today I was just reminiscing about home listening to these children over here talk about everything and nothing! xoxo
