Why I chose to become a Life-Coach

I honestly feel like this life chose me. What I mean is, from conception, it's been a whirlwind of good, bad, joy, pain, turmoil, deception, rejection, acceptance, love, hate, purpose......purpose......purpose!

*ALL THINGS work for the good of them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose* I think this drove me in the direction of a life-coach even before I fully understood this scripture. Before I even opened up a bible to see anything in God's Word. God knew I'd be here way before I did. Way before I even answered His call in my life. He actually started me on the path of 'coaching others' as early as high school. I just didn't realize it was as real a thing as it is today.

There are things we go through in life that just fortify us to be certain things, namely callings and professions. These life things usher us into the spaces that need us the most almost without us even realizing it. So, you grew up in an abusive home - alcoholism, fighting, drug addiction, sexual abuse, neglect, rejection. Now consider who you are and what you're called to in life? There's a reason why these things burn on the inside of you. You know them. It's familiar to you and if you're in a field that calls for you speaking to life situations, now you know why you're there. This life chose you, you didn't just choose it. God set it up this way. You simply needed to step into it.

And now that we're all here - life-coach, counselor, therapist, psychiatrist, dancer, singer, artist, health guru, doctor, lawyer, teacher - let's be the best us we can be as we pour out of these wells that run so deeply on the inside of us. We have a responsibility in doing this. It's not just what we're built for, but it's who we are! Our roles are more than just titles.

*I was also drawn to being a life-coach after watching a live of Tony Gaskins - life-coach to the stars. I made a declaration that 'One day, I'm going to meet him. We're both going to be in the same space so I can really see how this thing is done!' That declaration came true too. It was such a delight! I'm honored to have taken his master-class. It was confirmation for me that this is what I was created to do. It's been some kind of journey! xo
